The Lives of the Casteels!

Hello Everyone!

We are so grateful that we have amazing friends and families such as all of you! Thank you all for your prayers and love being sent our way! We know we are still going because of these prayers and our love for Jesus. We would not have gotten this far without these two things.

Selah Praise, our beautiful daughter, went to be with our maker, her Papa, just over two weeks ago. Our hearts have been breaking over and over again. There are rare minutes in the day when our minds are not reminded of her and our loss of her. We never thought this would ever happen to us. Our hearts have a new understanding of what it is to grieve. Our daughter that should be in my arms(this is my father heart speaking) is now in the arms of the one who knew her before I did. He is the one who thought of her and decided to make her in Shay's womb.

We buried Selah November 1st. It was as beautiful as a funeral for your child could be. It was very small and in a beautiful part of the island. Our close friends were there with us to be support to us. It also happened to be the week that Shannon's sister and brother-in-law were scheduled to be here in Hawaii to teach. Diana, Shay's mom, was even flown here for two weeks to be with us. What a gift.

This all occurred in the first two weeks of us being here. We firmly believe that we are supposed to be here. These circumstances would be the same if we were still in Charlotte or anywhere else. We know that the year(maybe more) we have dedicated here in Hawaii has some major victories coming against hell. Shay and I have many questions right now. Every question that you could imagine has entered our mind. Could we have changed this? Do we now believe the things we believed before this happened? Is God good?

As hard as it is for me to say now, He is good. I have to continue to believe this or there is no reason for me to serve Him. I would rather serve him than anything else because I know He is real. How do I know He is real? Because everything before this I have seen Him in. I know that He will show up in so many ways now and in the future.

So if any of you are praying for us to be okay, we will be. If any of you are wondering if we are leaving Hawaii, we are not. If you are wondering if Shay and I will have more kids, we will never stop! If any of you are questioning the goodness and kindness of God, like I am, He is both. If any of you are wondering why we still believe, it is because we knew Him before we lost anything and in Him we have gained it all. He and I both gained a daughter, I will just have to wait longer to see her. I told the devil the day I was holding her in my arms, believing for a miracle, that he would regret the day that this all happened. Did my miracle come? No, but I have to choose to believe for the next one. It is a choice.

We did step away from our commitments at the base for two weeks but are now, slowly but surely, returning to the reason we are here. While we have been shaken, we were first founded on a rock. Though our faith is being tested, we know His is not and He will not deny Himself! We are going to see and be a part of what the Lord is doing and is going to do here at Youth With A Mission in Kona!

The devil has not won and will not win.

Selah is with Jesus! What a better place than this!

Selah Praise, this is her name to let the Lord know that we will continue to pause and praise His name. It was also to remind the devil that even though she is not with us, we will continue to pause and praise the Lord over and over.

Thank you again for all of your prayers!

Update on support and Hawaii!

Hey Everyone!

Shannon and I want to give all of you an update on whats happening. We are very excited about joining the leadership team for Fire and Fragrence Ywam starting October 3rd! However, we still need the support to get there! We need $2000 monthly which includes living exspences for all of us, health insurance and Shiloh's schooling. So far, some of our closest friends and family have committed $600 a month! Amazing and encouraging, we know we are on the right track. We still need $1400 a month. We are simply asking you to take a moment and ask the Lord if He wants you to be apart of advancing the kingdom with us. If you feel a Yes! please let us know immediately!  You can give through PayPal or by check(PayPal is easier). Please continue to pray and believe with us that the support will come and we will be there in two and a half weeks! We love you all.

Thank you!

Never Giving Up!

Good day to all of you!

I woke up this morning with arrow quite ealrier than I would have liked. I started the coffee, first things first, and proceeded on to making a bowl of a very special treat, Lucky Charms. Our kids would be the most obedient kids ever if we would use Lucky Charms as a reward for it, but we will stick to the rod when needed. We finished our breakfast and I quickly realized that Arrow was not going to sit still while I tried to watch the Top 10 plays of yesterday. Neither was the Lord. So we went for a drive.

Evertime Arrow gets in the car she wants to listen to Uncle Johnny. Uncle Johnny is my brother in Law who is a worshipper who just so happens to make Arrows favorite songs. She sits and listens everytime. She loves the song "Never Giving Up". Shannon and I both know that He never gives up. We are very grateful that He never does, but I sometimes do.

We returned home and Arrow and I decided to go downstairs and play with Barbie Dolls and cars. I was reminded that Shannon had a dream not to long ago that this baby that she is pregnant with was a boy and he was going to be a Joshua. This clearly is not taken literally because we are having another girl. I soon picked up my Bible and read Joshua 1:9. I quickly realized that I am so often afraid and discouraged but in this scipture He commanded Joshua to be strong and of good courage and He will always be with him wherever he goes. What an amazing promise.

The reason I am saying all of this is because there are seasons that are rough. There are seasons where there is a pruning in process. There are seasons where we are faithless beings wondering what we are doing. But there are never seasons where He has given up on us or left us. We are the ones who put distance between us and the Lord. We are the ones who give up. We are the ones who must realize that He is really always with us wherever we may go.

We are still going to Hawaii. The timing has changed. We will not be going back until October 1st. We have received pledges that total $500 dollars a month. We are needing $2000 a month. We must be able to let YWAM know that we have this before we return. If the Lord has put it on your heart to partner with us in this adventure, please let us know soon. Thank you to all of you who have sown into us.

Our New Blog/Support Letter!

Hello Everyone!

This is the support letter that Shannon wrote last week. We sent it out via email but we wanted to make sure everyone could see it. Thanks for reading and please pray about what you could do. Thank you so much!

The Support Letter!

I found myself weeping, singing in the loudest voice I could muster through the tears, "Pour us out into the world, pour us out into the world." I remembered when I was sitting in a small lunch hall with 12 other interns listening to Lou Engle telling us that if we hear a song, read a book or watch a movie and it overtakes us in our beings, then it is a part of who we are, in our DNA. I sit and reread the words I have written in my journal, "Come fly, come soar, come away with me, I want to give you more!" My heart feels the faithfulness of Jesus.
Funny thing is, this is supposed to be a support letter. I look over and find a piece of paper that someone in France gave to me. It reads, Job 22:21-30, "You will pray to Him and He will hear you… What you decide on will be done and light will shine on your ways."
Many of you know that Blake and I, Shiloh and Arrow took a crazy leap of faith into missionary training in January. We sold or gave away what we couldn’t take with us in response to the Lord simply saying to us, "GO!" The past few months we have been spending time with family and praying that the Lord would make clear the next step of our journey.
One of the school leaders in Hawaii said, "Sometimes God does not call you to a place, He calls you to a people". We feel for the next year God is calling us to return to Hawaii and run with the amazing family He has given us there. We have been invited to do the one year leadership track and staff the next Fire and Fragrance school. We will be discipling and leading teams of students while continuing to be discipled and trained by some of the most solid, Godly men and women we have ever met. We feel incredibly honored to be summoned by Jesus to continue on this journey. We are required to raise monthly support and are asking you to pray! Pray that the Lord would have you sow into our family as we sow into young people who will be changing the world!
$875 a month covers our families living and eating expenses on base. Shiloh’s school starts September 12th
and is $125 a month. We must all have health insurance and, of course, general monthly expenses. We are believing for $2000 a month. We know that supporting a family sounds overwhelming but maybe instead of eating out, send us the money instead! This is a huge step of faith for us and we know it is for you as well! We will be leaving in 4 weeks depending on responses! We cannot wait to hear from you all. Thank you for loving our family and keeping us in your prayers. Please let us know if you are making a one time gift or will be continuing with monthly support. Any amount will be great. You can give at our blog ( or you can mail a check to:

Testimony Time from the Casteels!

Good Day Friends!

Thank you for all of your prayers and support for my family and I during the last six months. We are forever grateful to all of you. We are back home in North Carolina. We are happy to be with family but miss the friends we made on the journey. The Lord truly blessed us in so many ways. He blessed us with the finances to do this, incredible friendships, unbelievable experiences and a stronger relationship with Him. Through our obedience, He proved Himself supernaturally faithful.

First of all, our kids were amazing on this journey. Shiloh did things that we were never expecting. She never met a stranger. She told everyone that she talked to that Jesus loved them. She made friends with the homeless. She saw people how Jesus sees them. There was no difference from one to the next. In Amsterdam, she had us make a sign for her that said "Jesus loves you no matter what!" She came up with this all by herself. She walk around the busiest part of Amsterdam with this sign in hand. People were impacted by this. She even prayed for Muslim men that day. People were amazed by the authority that Shi walked in as she carried this bold sign. Shannon and I were inspired to walk in more boldness because of what Shiloh did on this outreach.

Our team saw the Lord do some incredible things while we were in France and Amsterdam. While in France, we saw our friend François Picaud give his life to the Lord. It was amazing to see his desire to serve the Lord. He felt the presence of the Lord so strong and could not pass the chance. I, Blake, was able to spend a lot of time with him in friendship and in discipleship. I loved spending time with this 17 year old kid. The Lord gave us words for Francois and a true love for him. We know that he has a true conviction to serve Jesus and to be an example of Jesus in his school. We are continuing to pray for Francois.

We also spent time with a Gypsy family once a week. We played games with the kids. I taught Darius, who is the 14 year old son, how to throw a football and play a drum. Shannon did all of the young girls hair. It was as if they had never felt so beautiful. They were so grateful to Shannon for doing their hair. We found out just this week that this entire family gave there lives to Jesus. It started with the father of the family getting saved and then the wife and children followed. It was such great news for us because we love them all so much. They are now plugged into a Romanian Church and are doing very well.

Then came Amsterdam. We encountered it all. We saw true hope for a city to be changed. Shannon and I
made incredible friendships in this city. We worked with YWAM ministries located in the red light district. The guys from our team and I helped with a ministry called Chap. They focused on the men in the red light district addicted to sex. I talked with men from all over the world. We experienced cold shoulders and men truly searching. It was amazing to see these mens responces. A pimp that worked a nearby alley told one of us that he was inspired by what we are doing. That is huge. He makes his living by these women selling themselves and he told us that what we were doing inspired him. The Lord is good.

The team and I were able to help a former prostitute paint, lay hardwood floors and move into her new apartment. She was awesome. Her name is Alexis. She was set free, 4 years ago, from prostitution. She is so awesome. She is from the Dominican Republic and was told 8 years ago that there was work for women in Amsterdam. She weant to Amsterdam and became trapped in prostitution. She had a young son to take care of and knew no way out. Then Jesus met her through a wonderful woman named Edna. Edna has given her life to love these women in the red light district. Alexis now lives a life for the Lord. She is such a loving, generous women. She was one of the highlights of our whole outreach!

One of our favorite moments was our time with Angy and Yhanothon. They are traveling musicians. He plays the Hangdrum and she dances while he plays. Angy is a Christian and Yhonathon is not. Shannon and I prayed for them on the street in Amsterdam and as soon as we finished praying i knew the Lord wanted them to eat with us.We were able to have them over for dinner. Yhonathon is from Israel so I knew good relationship would be best built with him at the table. We are still praying for Yhonathons salvation but Angy was incredibly encouraged by us that night. They were unable to play on the streets that night so we asked him to play for us. When he and Angy were done, our team walked to him and gave him money. We gave him over 70 euro. I knew that we were Jesus to Yhonathon and Angy that night. Please continue to pray for them as they are about to step into marriage.

These are some of the more impacting moments that we were a part of while on outreach. We are so grateful to the Lord, our families and our friends for the support we received to experience these things. We know that lives were changed including ours. We believe that this outreach is going to have long term effects in France and Amsterdam.

We are currently working and are praying for what the Lord has for us next. Please continue to pray and agree with us in this transition season. We want to do what the Lord has for us to do, no matter what it is. We long to be completely obedient to the calling on our families lives.

Thank You all again!

An Update from the Casteels!

Hello to all of you!

I am so glad to say that my wife is the most incredible mother ever! Shiloh, Arrow and the new life being formed inside of Shannon are so blessed to have her as a mother! I love my wife in ways I never knew I could love. What a great day for a mothers day. I know our children will always look back and know that their childhood was filled with joy simply because Shannon has loved our girls as Christ loves us. So I honor you Shannon as an amazing woman of God, an amazing wife and, of course, an amazing mother. You love like only you can! What a joy you are.

We are still here in the South of France. Things are going well. We have been able to spend a good amount of time with a local gypsy family. They is a 14 year old boy, in the family, that I have become close with. His name is Darius. I was able to teach him how to keep a beat on a drum. He loved it. We have one more day with them this week. Please pray that I would be able to get some good time with Darius and share more with him about Christ. It would be great to even disciple him more.

This last time was the first time that Shannon has been able to spend time with the gypsies. There are three young girls in the family. They all absolutely loved Shay and the girls. Shannon braided Jasmines hair. Jasmine began to ask questions about Jesus and they discussed good and evil. Jasmine told Shannon that she liked talking about Jesus with her. Pray that this conversation will continue this coming wednesday.

We have a new friend in a local boy named Francois. He is the neighbor of Dudley and Janet. Dudley and Janet are the local YWAM leaders. He has gotten saved since we have been here. He is incredible. I have been able to spend a good amount of time with him. He has an unbelievable calling on his life. It is incredible to be a part of the process with him. Please be praying for him.

Yesterday we were a part of a March for Jesus! It was an incredible experience. We were walking through the local city proclaiming Jesus as our savior and the only way. It was so awesome. We were mocked in ways that I never knew I could endure. There were a 150 of us. If there is ever a March for Jesus in your area, do it! Even if you are an athiest, do it. It will make you a believer.

We are here in France for 1 more week. Please pray that the fullness will take place. We want to see Jesus do all he wants to do while we are here.

Shannon and I are grateful for all of you. I will make sure to write another blog very soon.

Much Love,
Blake, Shannon, Shiloh and Arrow

First Week In France!

Bonjour, comment allez vous?

Just a lil French for all of you. We hope you are all well! Things are going great here in the South of France. We are in a medium size city called Ales. It is quite an interesting city. It is easy going and very laid back. It is a very "whatever happens, happens" city. Only 3% of France professes to be christians. We are praying that the Lord would use us to help in bringing this percentage up.

We spent some time with local Romanian gypsies the other day. They have just been given a small apartment by the French government because the father has become ill. There are 14 people living in this apartment. I made a connection with the 14 year old son. He was very intrigued by my tattoos. He asked me to draw him a tattoo. I did what I could. There was nothing good about my drawing except the fact that he loved it. I also gave him an American dollar bill. He had no idea what is was. He told the translator that he was going to keep it the rest of his life. Please being praying for him. His name is Darius.

We also had some time with the local homeless. It was incredible. They were drawn to us in an incredible way. The local YWAM leaders said there was a shift in the way they were all acting. They wanted to know everything about us. We are going back next wednesday. I actually had a dream about a couple of these guys that night and they were running in the streets with a joy they had never experienced. I am believing that these guys will be saved. Not 1 person we have talked to, other than Darius and some of his family, has believed in God but they still want to here what we think about Him.

We are stepping into an incredible  place of worship and in that our intercession is becoming more effective. We have to believe that things are going to change in this city and in this country. Jesus has to be known here. It is so much different than America. I have only seen 1 christian church.

Please continue to pray for us and our team. We are believing for the most for this outreach. Please pray that hearts would be opened up for the Lord to do what only He can. We want everything we do to be for the glory of the Lord.

I will write again soon. I know there will be greater things to tell next time.

We love you all.

Update on the Casteels!

Good Day!

I Hope you are all well! We are doing fantastic, kinda! We are packing. Is packing ever fun? We are getting all of our things ready for storage and travel. Shannon is a cleaning out machine. She is having a hard time getting rid of some things, so be praying for her(I am not being totally serious. But if you know Shannon, I am being completely serious!)

We leave this coming Tuesday! Oh man! We are excited. This is the 1st time that I will be out of the U.S.A. We are pumped about France. Yesterday, we had the privilege of having Joe and Judy Portale come share with our team and pray for us. They have been missionaries to France and the french speaking world for 40 yrs. We know we are going into a place that has been sown in and the time for harvest is coming! We are the workers of this harvest.

We want to also let you know that we have been invited by the leadership of Fire and Fragrance to staff the upcoming Circuit Riders school that starts July 7th. This is a 5 week school that focuses on going and establishing Christ-centered communities around the world that live out the 1st and 2nd commandments. This is our heart, to love Christ and to love those who we encounter. You can read more about circuit riders at

We love you all and we just wanted to give all of you a quick update.

Jesus said, "GO!"

Hello Friends!

We are excited to let all of you know that we have raised the money for our outreach! We are going to France and Amsterdam(or as Shiloh calls it "Hamsterdam"). Thank you! God is good and faithful. He has directed our footsteps. We would not be going if you did not believe in us! It is great to know that we are believed in by our friends and family and even some who we do not know.

We cannot imagine what the Lord is going to do in these places through our team. We are linking up with people who have been sowing into these places for years. We are just a piece of the puzzle for these nations and cities to encounter revival and reformation. Our team carries these things, Trust Me!

Dan Baumann said in our class today, "Having faith is good, but having Jesus is better!" What an incredible quote. Shannon and I looked at each other in encouragement. We know we walk in incredible faith but we wanna walk, even more so, in incredible, beautiful Jesus! Our faith could change peoples lives(our own), but Jesus can change everything. We must have more of Jesus.

We leave in 8 days! Oh my goodness! Please keep us in your prayers. We need it. 24 hrs of flights with a 17 month old requires a supernatural amount of grace. Please pray for this grace for us as if your life depended on it! I'm joking but I am absolutely not joking!

We haven't had any fun questions lately so feel free to ask.

We love you all.

The Casteel Adventure Update!

Aloha Everyone!

We hope you are all doing well! We are truly doing incredible. The Lord is so good to me and my family. We are excited for the things to come.

We leave for France and Amsterdam on March 29th and arrive in Paris on the 31st of March! Don't even ask me about the time jump. Lord knows I know nothing about it. Shiloh still thinks that Amsterdam is pronounced Hamsterdam. It is to funny to correct right now. We will do so before we leave.

Our team is so incredible. We are really becoming a family. We all love each other and support each other in every way. Since we have been here, our team alone has given us $1,250. Our team is 8 other students and 2 leaders. Some of them gave to us even when they were still in need of money. These people long to see us in France and Amsterdam with them. We believe revival and reformation for the church will be released by the lives of our team. Not to mention salvation and discipleship for the lost and broken.

The deadline for all of our outreach money to be in is today March 11th. We are so faith filled. We know the Lord will provide all we need. We ask all things in His name(Jn 15:16).

We do want to ask again if you would pray about partnering with us financially. We still need $3,500 by 3pm Hawaii time, 8pm eastern time and 7pm central time. This would be the end of what we owe for this 6 months of YWAM training and outreach. We are sending out this one last attempt through our blog. We don't know how the Lord will provide, but we know He will.

You will be hearing back from us soon concerning the good news about the Lord coming through for us. He will come through.

We love you all.

Another Update of Goodness!

Hey My Friends!

We hope you are all doing well. Things are going great here. We only have 4 weeks left of our lecture phase and then we are off to France and The Netherlands. We are stoked! Our team is so incredible. We are truly becoming a family. We are ready to take revival and reformation to Europe. We believe our team is a piece of the puzzle for this to happen.

We just found out yesterday some things that we will be doing while in France. Our team will be leading and participating in the following things: leading worship and intercession at local churches, working with the local gypsy community, having dinners open to community, teaching English in local schools, street evangelism/ treasure hunts and other things that we don't know yet. We are really focusing on what has already been started there and helping further their strategy. We are excited. We will have more details on the Netherlands soon. We are leaving on March 30th.

We also found out yesterday that we still need about $3,500. For this outreach, we have raised around $9,500. Total outreach is just under $13,000. We know this is a lot, but it costs more for a family. The Lord has blessed us so much. We had a random giving day, a month ago, in our class and fellow students gave us over $2,000. Also, our outreach leaders came up to us 3 weeks ago and told us about an anonymous $2,500 that was put in our Ywam account. Plus many other blessings from friends and family back home. The Lord is good.

Please pray and ask the Lord if you can sow into our lives and ministry for this season. We have also been sowing into other lives and ministries. The Lord blesses us because we long to bless others. We will always live by this. The Lord is in control of everything in our lives!

Also, you guys did ask some questions a couple of weeks ago but I would love some more.

I will write another blog soon about what we have been learning. It's Awesome!

Be Blessed!

Sincerely and in LOVE!

The Update of Goodness!

Hey Everyone,

We hope you are all doing well. We are doing so great. The Lord is literally changing every aspect of our lives from world views to simple biblical truths. We are forever changed from even the 6 weeks we have been here.

The girls are doing so awesome. Shiloh is growing up so well. I hurt my ankle last night playing basketball with the locals and Shiloh was very concerned. She insisted on staying home with me to take care of me while Shay went to the prayer set. It was so amazing for my fathers heart. We sat and watched movies and she made popcorn for the first time all by herself. She felt so grown up. She is so awesome. I love it when she feels so good about things like that.

Arrow is getting so big. She has gotten super tan since we have been here. She is running everywhere. I mean she is all over the place.

Shay and I are doing very well. Our marriage has taken off. We are falling more in love than ever. We have had about 5 dates since being here. The girls here love our kids and want to babysit all of the time. Our dates consist of eating dinner here and then having coffee on the beach and praying about what the Lord wants in our lives. It is amazing. My wife is incredible.

Also, Our outreach to Europe is almost fully paid for. We have had 2 anonymous payments into our YWAM account and several students have blessed us tremendously with finances. You all have had a major part in this as well. We have felt so much love from people and the Lord in our finances. It is so unbelievable. We have a couple more weeks before we need to have all the money in. God is good and our trust is in Him.

We are having revival in our hearts and we are going to take it to the body and then the world. We long for reformation of the heart for all believers and those who are going to be believers. It is vital for us to look only to Christ for this. He longs for this reformation to take place in all of our hearts first. Please look for the podcasts of our class on itunes. I believe they are under Fire and Fragrance Kona. They are all free and you can learn what we are learning and hear what we are hearing.

We love you guys and please continue praying for us.

Blessings to you all,
The Casteels

More Q and A with the Casteels!

Hello Again,

We are so happy to announce that we have been asked more questions and desire to answer them. We applaud the Rummage Family for pulling these answers out of us. So, thanks to the Rummage family, here we go!!!!!

1. How many different kinds of meetings do you go to in a week?
-We attend 1 morning class(9-12) and 1 afternoon prayer set(1-3) each day. Then Shay and I switch off for work duty(3-5) in The Mauka Theater every day. Also, we have Thursday night O'hana meeting.

2. What does Shiloh do in pre-school?
-Right now she is learning how to hear the voice of God. This is the first thing they teach the Foundation School students. Aside from that, she is learning the alphabet, numbers and all the important kindergarden things.

3. What are the prayer meetings like?
-They are getting much better. They are becoming more vital and much easier to press in. The first hour is worship and the second is the mixture of intercession and worship. Unfortunately, this is a vital nap time for arrow so one of us usually misses half of the prayer set.

4. What are the weekly topics you have covered so far? (ie Father heart of God etc.)
-!st week: Revival of the heart and it leading to to Reformation of the heart, church and the world(there is a lot more to this but this is nutshell!) 2nd week: The Holy Spirit and being and heir/son of God. 3rd week: Laying everything at the cross and being willing to serve Jesus when we have nothing. Loren Cunningham spoke on this and it was truly amazing!!! 4th week: Freedom from strongholds and forgiveness. This was my favorite week yet. I was set free of things I had no idea were existent in my life. This(5th) week: Taking on a Biblical world view. I think this week will end up being my favorite if it keeps going like it is. So much knowledge and truth.

5. Do you go as a family to all the stuff or who goes where?
-Shiloh is in school from 8-2:45. Shay and I go to morning classes together while Arrow takes a nap. Shay is usually able to stay in the class the whole time.

I love the questions. Please keep asking.

Please continue to pray for us. We are still adjusting to the everyday life here in Kona. Shiloh is really missing our families. Please pray for the Lord to give her peace and a assurance that she will see all of them again. She is 5 so she doesn't always understand why we are here or how long we will be here.

Also, thank you all for the financial support. We are truly grateful for what you have blessed us with. We still need about $5,000 for our total outreach. Europe is pricey. If you would like to become a monthly supporter, let me know and i will give you the address to mail a payment so it will be tax exempt.

Please ask us more questions. Maybe one day I will teach Shay about computers so she can answer the questions without me having to type for her(ha ha).

Bless you all,
Blake, Shay, Shiloh and Arrow

Q and A with the Casteels!

Hello Everyone,

I am so happy to hear your feedback. I am in agreement that you all need to hear more about the everyday things we are doing and things we love here. So i'm not going to waste anymore time. These are questions that were suggested by our dear friend Robert Rummage! YAY Robert! Here it goes!

1)Favorite Hawaiian destination?
  - South Point Cliff Jumping. Seriously, it is our favorite. Also, any avocado tree!!!
2)Shiloh's favorite past time?
-The plane ride here!(Shi's exact words) Her least favorite is walking uphill.
3)How many nationalities on campus? In your DTS? In your apartment complex?

-15 on campus. 10 in our DTS. 5 in building.
4)The native Hawaiian flower you like best?

5)DTS speaker you've gotten the most out of? (Explain)

-Brian Brennt. He is super real and in your face. He comes at you with a straight forward, sincere heart that truly                 penetrates your being. He is super Biblical as well.
6)Thing you miss the most from the mainland?

-We miss the family and a good ol' occasional, greasy burger from 5 Guys!
7)Arrow's sleeping habits?

  -They suck.
8)What's God saying about your upcoming outreach to Europe? Dreams? Scriptures?

-He is absolutely providing for every bit of it. Shay had a dream that she was carrying golden leaves to the nations. These leaves are talked about in Rev. 22:2. They are used to heal the nations. It is a sweet dream!!! We are carriers of the gospel. The Great Commission will always be our passage(Mk 16:15-18)
9)Any new tattoos?
-No new tattoos will be coming anytime soon.
10)Any other random factoid we need to know?

-Blake has already made some incredible new best friends and is running more than he has in the last 3 yrs. Shay can walk for 3 miles straight with both the girls. Also, she receiving incredible daily encouragement. Shiloh also has incredible new friends and expects her coffee to be on the table every morning. Arrow has become super feisty and super funny. The girls are growing so close with each other. That has been amazing to watch. Both of the girls are huge hits on this campus. People, literally, know us by our fruit(children).

There you have it. If you have any other Q's, just let us know and we will be happy to answer. We love you all.

Faith, Faith and a lot more Faith!

When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic "Son, your sins are forgiven you."(Mk 2:5)
This man was healed by the faith of these 4 men. This man didn't even do anything except literally just lay there and be lowered in. These 4 men were the catapult for the paralytics life being changed by Jesus. Not only was this man healed but his sins were forgiven. I want the faith that these 4 men had to see miracles this day and age.

And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over."(Mk 5:34) This woman's faith is brilliant. She fought for her healing. She knew that the very clothing that Jesus was wearing had His power in it to end her suffering. I believe that Jesus turned to her and was truly proud of this remarkable act of faith. I want to take such incredible actions of faith.

Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way, your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.(Mk 10:52) This man was Bartimaeus. He heard that Jesus was coming and began saying, "Son of David, have mercy on me." Bartimaeus was told to be quiet by others yet he continued on shouting "Son of David, have mercy on me." Because of his being persistent Jesus summoned him. Bartimaeus wanted to see the Son of David. He then saw the Son of David. What an amazing first sight.

Shannon and I want this faith. I want my eyes to be opened in such faith that the first thing I see is the face of Jesus just like Bartimaeus. I want the faith of the woman who contended for healing. I want to be aggressive against the enemy and touch the man Christ Himself. I want to have the faith of the 4 men and lower my family, friends and the lost before Jesus so their lives may be changed. We have to walk in this powerful faith that will literally penetrate the forces that are set up against our lives.

We will not settle for anything less than this Biblical faith.

We are leaving for Europe in 2 mo. We still need finances by this Thursday for the downpayment for our trip. We know that the Lord is going to provide all of our needs. We are not beggars, we are sons and daughters of God.

We love all you guys. I would love to hear what you all think about the blog.

Good day to you all!

Shay and I long to see the purest form of the love of Jesus. We want to have a true revelation of what it is to be a son and daughter of Jesus. We long to reach our hands up and know He is going to reach down and pick us up. He has been undoing us with with His reckless love for us. He is a furious, loving God who wants to radically sweep the lost into His arms. He has been doing this to Shay and I.

We know this is the truth that we are to take to the world. His reckless, abandoned love has the ability to transform the prostitutes, free the addicted, love the loveless and father the fatherless. We want to see the lost proclaim that they have been adopted and call Him "Abba, Father!"(Rom. 8:15-17). He longs for us to take this message to the broken.

The Lord is doing amazing things in our lives. We are truly learning to rely on Him. We know He is a God of miracles. We put our trust in a God who acts not the acts of God.

We still need more money by the 3rd of Feb. We have received $250 of the $10,000 we need for the downpayment for our outreach. We know the Lord is faithful and we know He has called us to YWAM and to go on this outreach. Please continue to pray and believe with us for this financial miracle. We know it is a lot.

We hope to have some pictures and maybe even a video up soon.

Blessings from the Casteels!

Experiencing our calling!

Hey everybody.

Blessings to you all. We are having an amazing time here in Kona. We are falling in love with our experiences. We had an awesome class this week. I feel a longing for more of Jesus everyday. Shannon and I feel that the Lord is doing some serious pruning of our lives. We long for more so I would say that is a good thing!

Every Tuesday night, we go to downtown Kona for outreaches. These nights, for shay and I, are to build relationships with the locals. We met a girl 2 weeks ago who had just had a baby 5 months ago. Her name is Kuohu and the little boy's name is Zander. Shay and I were able to pray with her and we know that the Lord planted something in her soul that night. She was downtown dealing with her new boyfriend so she could make some money. We really hope to see her again soon so please agree in prayer with us. We know she longs for more to be added to her life.

I know this is brief, but we want to let you all know some of the things we are doing here. Also, please continue praying with us concerning our outreach in April. We have gotten our first $20 towards the downpayment for the 4 of us, but we still need $9,980. We know the Lord has called on this outreach.
We long to see the kingdom of God brought to Berlin, Amsterdam and France.

Thank you all so much.

P.S. Let me know if you would like the information concerning a tax deductable donation!

The Casteel Adventure!

Hey Everyone,

We hope you all are doing well. We are excited to tell you that we found out where our YWAM outreach is heading. Are you ready? We are going to Berlin, Amsterdam and the South of France. We are so excited. The Lord has been so awesome. Our DTS(Fire and Fragrance) has been amazing. We have already made incredible friendships and are living in a life giving community. We are pursuing revival of our hearts and then taking it to where the Lord wants us to go.

We also wanted to share our needs with you all. We need your prayers. Things are going great but it never hurts to have people praying for us. Also, we need $10,000 dollars by February 3rd for the downpayment of this outreach. All 4 of us are going so it is a lot. This will include food, housing and all the extra things you end up needing on a outreach trip.

Please consider helping with our support. We have 2 weeks to raise this money. We know that the Lord is leading us. Our hearts are for the nations.

On the right side of our blog page we have a donate button that will allow you to donate to our PayPal account. If you are interested in a tax deductable donation, contact me and I will let you know how you can do that!

We are so thankful that you have read this. We will post another blog soon.

We love you all.
